Today, Determine Inc. announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters to Carmel, Indiana. The San Mateo, the California-based company, a provider of SaaS management and solutions, marks another win for Indiana as it grows in its reputation as a tech hub.
In an interview with Inside Indiana business, CEO Patrick Stakenas acknowledged Indiana’s growing presence in the tech community when he referred to Carmel as Indiana’s ‘Silicon Prairie’. Determine Inc. is among several California based companies, including Appirio, that have recently chosen to relocate to Indianapolis. Economic Development success has been common for tech companies in Indianapolis lately. Salesforce reported it will add 800 jobs at its Indianapolis location over the next five years. Torchlite also announced its plans for hiring 150 people.
Although this growth is phenomenal for Indianapolis, it puts a strain on the availability of office space suitable for tech companies, primarily in desirable north suburban Carmel. Companies located in cities such as Chicago and the Bay Area recognize Indianapolis as a city that can offer companies and their employees a low cost of living, superior quality of life and a statewide commitment to attract and retain tech talent.
